Front shocks weren’t installed properly, lol. Front end sits properly now and dare I say this car looks DAMN good (when you can’t see the hail damage)

Classic lines.
I do my best not to dwell on all
the rock chips on my car.

One of the best looking sedans ever made IMO, alongside the E38.

How were they not installed properly?

I t is the absolute best “ car” shaped car. Like if you took a sedan out of a kids book and kept on enhancing it until it was as pretty as you could get it for real life.

I really think you should keep the silver and just OWN it. =)

Are the knuckles a pinch fit on the strut like my 128i? If so, did they not put the strut far enough into the knuckle? Having done them on my car I can attest that doing so can be tough if you don’t spread the knuckle enough.

Yuup. Dude didn’t realize alignment pins are a thing. Both struts were clocked like 5 degrees off and the bottom alignment pin was jammed up against the top of the strut.

Dude didn’t realize alignment pins are a thing. Both struts were clocked like 5 degrees off and the bottom alignment pin was jammed up against the top of the strut. The result is that the whole strut was 1.5" higher in the knuckle than it’s supposed to be

Beautiful! I love those wheels too, are those BMW OE’s from a newer F-chassis 3?

That is crazy, never done struts before so I probably could have made the same mistake.
The ZHP looks good, en joyed your video as well. I’m in the mountains this week and seeing your BMW makes me miss my E28 even more .

Lol. IIRC it’s a little blade on the strut that goes in the slot of the knuckle for mine, which makes it a bit more obvious. Or maybe that was on my Golf.
Either way, it’s a very secure system that means your camber can’t get knocked out of alignment by rough roads. On the other hand, in the case of my 1er, it means camber is not adjustable out of the box, which sucks for performance driving purposes. I still need to order camber plates/top mounts for my new suspension so that I can install it and run something other than 0 camber.
